The Launch - Founded in 2013 with a mission of launching NYC's finest collection of food startups, Union Food Lab has found its niche in sprouting local, organic, artisanal and sustainable food ventures. We have seen many successful startups come through our kitchen and land on the shelves of local and national chains. We have recently expanded our staff and have a full time assistant director charged with helping food ventures and expanding our network.
The Kitchen - Union Food Lab is a newly renovated, clean and spacious commercial kitchen and training ground in West Harlem. Union Food Lab currently offers commercial kitchen incubator space that is ideal for raw, vegan, baked, dessert and drink ventures. The facility is available to rent on a shift-basis for those in need of a licensed commercial kitchen to help grow their business, as well as community food education classes.
How to Apply - Union Food Lab offers opportunities to qualified business start-ups and existing small food businesses that can significantly benefit from affordable access to a licensed commercial kitchen space, business/technical assistance and training in food industry techniques and business operations.
The Location - We are located at 3041 Broadway (cross St is 121st) in Morningside Heights on the grounds of Union Theological Seminary and situated right next to Columbia University.
The Team - Founded by Richard Madonna and Bethany Vaughan in 2013, the team has recently expanded and welcomes Nick Jacobs as Assistant Director.
